The magic of Oz is blowing into Dublin, ready to whisk you away on a whirlwind adventure full of stunning sets, show-stopping songs, and a story that will make you question everything you thought you knew about good and wicked. This new version of WICKED lands at Dublin’s Bord Gáis Energy Theatre on July 23rd with Irish actor Sarah O’Connor playing the iconic role of Glinda. As you can imagine reaching this level of success at such a young age has been no mean feat and Sarah is most definitely flying the flag for the Irish on the West End
Born in Lucan, Sarah attended Dublin’s Westside Performing Arts and was a finalist in the RTÉ talent show Fame: The Musical before making her West End debut in Mamma Mia! in 2011. Sarah has gone on to star in a host of other West End shows including Les Misérables; ‘Imelda Quirke’ in the original cast of The Commitments; ‘Perón’s Mistress’ in Evita; Waitress; Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol and, most recently, Disney’s Frozen.
WICKED, which has been one of the hottest tickets in Broadway and West End for over 20 years has already been seen by 65 million people around the world and has won over 100 major international awards. This Christmas Universal Pictures will release the first of two parts of the film version of WICKED, directed by Jon M. Chu and starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande.
