It’s a spectacular year for Irish film at the Golden Globes, with a whopping SIX nominations for Irish talent (seven if you include Game Of Thrones filmed in Belfast).
The wonderful Irish made film ROOM received three nominations,
including Best Picture – Drama,
Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama for ROOM’s leading lady Brie Larson
and
Best Screenplay – Motion Picture for Emma Donoghue.
ROOM will open in Irish cinemas on January 15th.
Meanwhile Carlow actress Saoirse Ronan picked up a nomination for her role in Brooklyn in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama category.
Dublin born Caitriona Balfe was nominated for her lead performance in historical time travel series OUTLANDER.
Finally, Magneto himself, Michael Fassbender earned a nomination for his portrayal of Steve Jobs in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama category.
The awards will take place on January 10th and will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.
