Reese Witherspoon, whose latest offering, the buddy-comedy ‘Hot Pursuit,’ hits Irish cinemas July 31st, is to produce and potentially star in ‘Opening Belle,’ a female-driven comedy based on Maureen Sherry Kinsky’s book.
Per Variety, ‘Opening Belle’ is a comedic version of a woman juggling motherhood with a career on Wall Street in 2007, when she must deal with the impending financial crisis while raising three children.
The book is loosely based Klinsky’s real-life experience working as a managing director at New York-based global investment bank and securities trading and brokerage firm Bear Stearns.
Witherspoon and her Pacific Standard partner Bruna Papandrea will produce, with Pacific Standard’s Jeanne Snow overseeing development alongside Julia Spiro and Chantal Nong of Warner Bros.
