Roger Moore critical of Bond violence
Former Bond man Roger Moore has revealed that the portrayal of James Bond has become too violent for his tastes.
The 81-year-old actor played 007 in the 1970s and early 80s, but admitted that the bloodshed was already increasing by his seventh outing in A View To A Kill. “That wasn’t Bond,” he told reporters.
Speaking after the release of latest instalment Quantum Of Solace, he said: “I am happy to have done it, but I’m sad that it has turned so violent. That’s keeping up with the times, it’s what cinema-goers seem to want and it’s proved by the box office figures.”
‘Quantum Of Solace’, which opens in the US lthis weekend, has taken in more than $106 million worldwide so far.
