Mike Fleming over at Deadline is hearing word that Misha Green, creator and showrunner of the well-received horror drama series ‘Lovecraft Country,’ has closed a deal to make her feature directorial debut on the upcoming sequel to 2018’s‘Tomb Raider.’
Directed by Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug, the first film starred Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, who must push herself beyond her limits when she discovers the island where her father went missing while seeking a mythical tomb.
In addition to directing, Green will shape the script for the sequel, which brings back Vikander as the dual wielding pistol treasure hunter.
Graham King is on board to produce the sequel via his GK Films banner, alongside Elizabeth Cantillon of The Cantillon Company.
