‘Hail, Caesar!’ star Channing Tatum, Halle Berry (‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’), and ‘Game of Thrones’ actor Pedro Pascal have all joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle.’
The sequel to Vaughn’s 2014 spy spoof actioner ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service,’ the film sees Taron Egerton reprising his role of Eggsy, with Mark Strong returning to play senior Kingman agent, Merlin.
Vaughn and regular collaborator Jane Goldman scripted the spy caper sequel, which sees Eggsy and Merlin heading to the American equivalent of Kingsman, where Eggsy meets his match in a “swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy.”
Julianne Moore (‘Freeheld,’ ‘Still Alice’) in talks to play the film’s central villain, with Edward Holcroft, Sophie Cookson, and Colin Firth also returning. Piano man Elton John is rumoured to appear in some capacity.
Principal photography on the sequel is scheduled to kick off in a few weeks, with release pencilled in for summer 2017.
