Film marks Bidegain’s directing debut…
John C. Reilly, who most recently graced the big screen with Marvel’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ has signed on to star in ‘Les Cowboys,’ the directorial debut of French screenwriter Thomas Bidegain (‘Rust and Bone,’ ‘Where Do We Go Now?,’ ‘Un prophète’).
Reilly will star alongside Finnegan Oldfield and Francois Damiens in the story of a father (Damiens) who, along with his son (Oldfield), goes in search for his missing daughter, who disappeared after starting to date a young man who is a Muslim fundamentalist. They travel from Lyon to Pakistan, where they enlist the help of an American headhunter (played by Reilly).
Bidegain will be directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with his regular collaborator Noé Debré.
Production is underway with filming taking place in France (at Charleville-Mezieres, Sedan and Lyon), Belgium (Anvers and Liège) and India (Rajasthan).
