Katie Khan’s 2017 sci-fi novel ‘Hold Back the Stars’ is getting the big-screen treatment thanks to Mike Cahill, the director behind ‘I Origins’ and ‘Another Earth.’
Described by Deadline as ‘Romeo & Juliet’ meets ‘Gravity,’ the book revolves around Carys and Max, who revisit memories of their love affair on a utopian Earth while they are trapped in the vast void of space with only ninety minutes of oxygen left.
‘Black Panther’ scene-stealer Letitia Wright and John Boyega (‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ ‘Detroit’) are attached to headline the sci-fi, with Christy Hall on board to shape the script. Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps is producing.
