‘Lucy’ star officially boards live-action retelling…
Variety is reporting that Scarlett Johansson (‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ ‘Lucy’) has signed on to star in the live-action remake of the uber popular Japanese anime ‘Ghost in the Shell.’
With Rupert Sanders (‘Snow White and the Huntsman’) attached to direct, the story follows a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.
Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing the film from a script by Bill Wheeler (‘Hoax, ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’). Mark Sourian is on board to serve as executive producer.
