Terminator fans rejoice. Mike Fleming over at Deadline brings word that ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller is in talks to take the helm for a new ‘Terminator’ movie, with franchise creator James Cameron “godfathering.”
Under copyright laws, Cameron regains the rights to the cybernetic property in 2019, and according to the site’s sources, the plan is for Miller to direct “a reboot and conclusion” of the billion-dollar science fiction saga that kicked off in 1984.
David Ellison, who co-financed the lead balloon that was ‘Terminator Genisys,’ is also along for the ride. The Skydance Productions head honcho will bankroll an exploratory effort that includes engaging some top-flight sci-fi authors to find the movie creatively.
