British star boards the revenge drama…
The awesome Idris Elba (‘Luther,’ ‘Pacific Rim,’ ‘The Gunman’) has reportedly come on to replace Jamie Foxx opposite Benicio Del Toro in the revenge drama ‘The Trap.’
With Harmony Korine (‘Spring Breakers’) directing, the drama sees Elba playing Rico, a gangster rap artist at the top of his game and about to enjoy “a triumphant night at the Grammy Awards when Slim (Del Toro), his childhood friend who took the fall for a robbery the duo committed years earlier is released from prison after 14 years. Slim is determined to exact revenge after learning that Rico not only achieved fame and fortune but also married his girlfriend and raised Slim’s son as his own.”
According to the folks at THR, Al Pacino, Robert Pattinson and James Franco are also in talks to join the cast.
Pattinson (‘Maps To The Stars’) would be taking on the role of Max, an Uzi-weilding surfer enlisted by Slim to help exact revenge, with Franco in line to play The role of Slim’s parole officer would be played by Pacino.
