Follow-up may shoot in the autumn…
Multiple outlets are reporting that Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde will return for Disney’s much awaited ‘TRON 3,’ with Joseph Kosinski returning to direct.
A sequel to the classic sci-fi ‘TRON,’ 2010’s ‘TRON: Legacy’ saw Hedlund playing Sam Flynn, son of virtual world designer Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges), who goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world. He meets his father’s corrupted creation and Quorra (Wilde), a unique ally who was born inside the digital world.
The blockbuster grossed $400 million worldwide off a budget of $170 million and featured an original score by Daft Punk.
Filming on the third outing, rumoured to be titled ‘TRON: Ascension,’ is expected to be taking place this October in Vancouver.
