Scarlet Witch joins Loki for music biopic…
Variety is reporting that Elizabeth Olsen (‘Avengers: Age of Ultron,’ ‘Godzilla’) has closed a deal to star opposite Tom Hiddleston (”Thor: The Dark World,’ ‘Midnight In Paris’) in the Hank Williams biopic ‘I Saw the Light.’
With Marc Abraham (‘Flash of Genius’) behind the camera, ‘I Saw the Light’ showcases the meteoric rise to fame and fortune of one of the greatest and most influential country singers of all time, but it also delves into the dark and troubled life that existed away from the spotlight. Olsen will portray Williams’ wife, Audrey Mae.
The film, based on the Colin Escott’s ‘Hank Williams: The Biography,’ has the full cooperation of the Hank Williams estate, allowing permission to use the singer’s catalogue of memorable hits, including ‘Your Cheatin’ Heart,’ ‘I”m So Lonesome I Could Cry ‘and ‘Hey Good Lookin.’
Brett Ratner’s RatPac Entertainment, Bron Studios and Creative Wealth Media Finance are producing and financing, with filming scheduled to commence next month in Louisiana.
