Horror flick begins shooting in June…
THR brings word that Gore Verbinski (‘The Lone Ranger,’ ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ ‘The Ring’) is to take the director’s chair for the supernatural horror ‘A Cure for Wellness,’ with Dane DeHaan (‘Chronicle’) and Mia Goth (‘Nymphomaniac: Vol II’) attached to star.
Penned by Justin Haythe (‘Revolutionary Road’), the horror tells the story of an employee (DeHaan) who is sent to rescue his boss from a European “wellness spa” but soon realizes he’s trapped, and discovers that the facility has a more sinister purpose than just serving the health needs of its patients.
The trade has Goth in line to play a long-time patient who is oblivious to the spa director’s dark designs for her.
Filming is scheduled to kick off in June with Verbinski also producing the project via his Blind Wink Productions.
