Move over Aaron Cross, Jason Bourne is back…
Deadline’s Mike Fleming is hearing word that Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass are in negotiations with Universal Pictures to reunite for another outing of the ‘Bourne’ franchise.
The film would mark the third film in the series for Greengrass and Damon, having previously collaborated on ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ and ‘The Bourne Ultimatum.’
Last time Greengrass talked about a potential return to the franchise, he said that there was no place for Jason Bourne to go creatively, following the events of ‘Ultimatum.’ However, it looks like they may have cracked the story, as Deadline’s sources claim that the studio is looking to release the Damon/Greengrass film July 2016, pushing back its untitled spinoff sequel starring Jeremy Renner to a later date.
