Affleck’s period crime drama begins filling out its roles…
Sienna Miller (‘Foxcatcher’), Zoe Saldana (‘Guardians of the Galaxy’) and Elle Fanning (‘Maleficent ‘) are all set to join Ben Affleck’s Prohibition-era crime drama ‘Live By Night.’
Adapted from Dennis Lehane’s fast moving and violent novel of the same name, the film is set in Boston and focuses on Joe Coughlin (Affleck), the black-sheep son of a police captain who gets involved in escalating levels of organized crime.
Deadline has Miller playing Emma Gould, Coughlin’s love interest at the beginning of the story, who also happens to be the girlfriend of the local mob boss, Albert White.
Saldana will take the role of Graciela Corrales, a woman he crosses paths with as he becomes involved in organized crime in Tampa. Fanning will play Loretta Figgis, a wholesome Girl Next Door and aspiring actress who gets into trouble.
Affleck’s Pearl Street Films is producing, with Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Killoran Davisson co-producing.
