CAPTAIN FANTASTIC

Starring Viggo Mortensen, Katherine Hahn and Frank Langhella, ‘Captain Fantastic’ is the story of Ben (Viggo Mortensen) and his six young children who live completely removed from society, somewhere in an American forest. When the children’s mother dies while away from her family, Ben is warned not to come to the funeral by the children’s grandfather (Frank Langhella). Ben refuses to take this lying down however, and packs the kids into their trusty bus – that they have named Steve – and head back to civilisation on a road trip that will change the way they live forever.

Seeking friendship, Mary begins spending time with Jess (Lee), but without facing her issues, Mary seems doomed to repeat her past mistakes.

Brothers Tanner (Ben Foster) and Toby (Chris Pine) have a plan to hold up several branches of The Texas Midwest Bank. After they successfully hold up two branches, and bury the getaway cars on their family ranch, Texas Ranger Marcus (Jeff Bridges) is on the case, chasing them down before they can hit another branch. Although the brothers’ plan is desperate and rather foolhardy, they are determined to save the family ranch, which is due to be foreclosed on in just a few days time.

Ken Loach’s Palme D’Or winner is the story of Daniel Blake (Dave Johns), who has worked all his life as a carpenter. After a heart attack puts him out of work he tries to claim benefits until his doctor deems him fit to go back to work. Excluded from claiming benefits since a “health care professional” considers him fit to work, Daniel finds his efforts to appeal frustrated. When he meets Katie (Hayley Squires), a young woman with two children who is also being denied benefits, the two strike up a sweet friendship borne out of adversity.

As he mourns his loss, he meets the mysterious Ancient One (Swinton), who brings him on a mission to protect the world from inter-dimensional threats.

FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM

Starring: Eddie Redmayne, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Ron Perlman, Jon Voight

Based on J.K. Rowling’s novella of the same name, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ introduces audiences to the Wizarding World in the US for the first time. Eddie Redmayne plays Newt Scamander, whose adventures in New York take place seventy years before Harry Potter ever picks up his book at Hogwarts.

Time to get excited; ‘Star Wars’ returns this December. In this story, which takes place before ‘Star Wars: A New Hope’ focuses on a band of rebels who take drastic action to steal the plans for the Death Star; setting the stage for the original trilogy of films.

Directed by the minds that brought us ‘The Little Mermaid’ and ‘Aladdin’ – Ron Clements and John Musker – ‘Moana’ follows a young girl who wants to return to her people’s tradition of navigating and exploring, and sets out on the seas to find the demigod Maui, voiced by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. We can’t wait to hear The Rock’s vocal styling’s in this new Disney film.
