Skippit. An Unexpected Letdown.
Rubbish, unless you're a six year old girl. See 'The Hunstman' instead.
I really enjoyed this. The satire is very clever and the premise is genius. Some good gags for the Internet generation. The American government are mercilessly ridiculed, as they should be - probably why it didn't get full release over there! It's the best si-fi out of Finland in a while and Julia Dietze is very sexy in the lead female role (watch for her if nothing else). Not for everyone, if you're not into B-movies in general skip it.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought. It's definitely true to the originals, and pokes fun at how the Stooges really doesn't fit in with today's world. Has some classic moments, and some that just don't work. The cast were superb. Worth the price of admission, and will certainly cheer you up with some very silly humour.
Quirky little movie with a VERY strong cast. Close obviously can act, but pay close attention to Mia Wasikowska, this is her best effort yet. Also worth noting is the attention to detail in the props and costumes, a fantastic job has been done setting the scene for the time period. Watch it even if it's not your usual cup of tea, you won't be disappointed.
Okay, I'm a big fan of 3B movies - movies that require at least 3 beers to enjoy. However, this movie made me down half a bottle of Jack Daniels. It makes the 2008 movie "Strippers vs Zombies" into Oscar material, no kidding. I want my 90 minutes back (and my Jack Daniels if possible). It's based on some graphic novel I've never heard of, and if you are looking for some bare stripper flesh like we had in "Zombies", forget about it... although there's plenty of flesh, it's probably not the kind you were seeking! If you DO happen to be half cut and are looking for something to watch, this will just about do. However, note that Robert Englund's appearance can be missed if you blink, and if you are looking our for the stunning Miss Lucy Pinder you'll need to sit through a lot of shite until you catch her brief, disappointing appearance as a vampire. NOBODY can act in this movie (especially Pinder, Jesus she's bad), and the werewolf makeup is nuts - they all look like Scooby Doo characters. Nice 80s soundtrack though. More worrying is that looking at IMDB, 2012 will see another movie called Zombies Vs. Strippers (is that necessary?) and Cockneys vs Zombies (WTF?), and 2013 will give us Strippers Vs Vampires (could the talented Lucy Pinder be a main star? Was her earlier appearance like some kind of Marvel crossover cameo?). Better stock up on something stronger than whiskey, and lots of it.......
3B movie. You need at least 3 beers to enjoy it.....
Really, really enjoyed this movie. Had decided to own on Blu-ray within 30 mins! Brought 11 year old nephew, he was blown away, loved it. It's like Conan, Star Wars and Superman all mashed together - a fantasy epic that will linger long in the imagination. Impressive release from Disney, setting the bar high for this year's blockbusters.
Nowhere near as good as it could have been and great actors were under-used. Paltrow doesn't star in this at all, she cameos. She's dead within 5 mins - how does that make her a leading actress? Bit of a wasted opportunity there, kinda like the film itself.
Usual revenge movie affair. Alexander Skarsgaard is best thing about. He's a fantastic, under-rated actor.
Good solid performances, very funny in places. Had been putting off but glad I watched in the end.
Wasn't planning on catching this, but finished up in Dundrum with 2 hours to kill, and War Horse was just starting...so....I was actually pleasantly surprised, this movie works well on many levels, and the photography is amazing. Spielberg on his usual top form, thought the story itself is a bit unrealistic with elements of Lassie and Black Beauty going on. Human cast are all great, a fine performance from the flawless Emily Watson. It's an emotional rollecoaster of a movie, worth the price of admission.
