Ye know what I am going to give this 5 stars! :D
Why? Well several reasons really...
The first being, taking an old story line and make it interesting again. When I first heard of Star Trek, Into Darkness, I knew it was the Kahn story, and I'll be honest I was sad. They've gone and created a whole new time line where anything could be covered and they decided to do Kahn...
Holy crap was I surprised! Excellent story, love their re-take on it.
Secondly Dr McCoy is a f**king legend.
Highly recommended for anyone really.
And I have absolutely no idea how many red-shirts died in it.

You know what...this is actually a really good flick.
The characters are great, dialogue is funny and witty, and the whole thing actually just works very well.
It's so nice to see something that's different and fresh, and this certainly counts.
4 Stars!

Not going to call this a master-piece of cinematic art.
But having said that it was actually very entertaining.
Brick-top is...as always...funny and entertaining! :D
I was a little disturbed at the lack of recoil on all those guns though! :D

I have to say I was actually pleasantly surprised with this film. When I sat down to watch it I wasn't very hopeful that it would be any good...since it was essentially a film about a bicycle :P
This was brilliantly executed. I was enjoying it, I got sucked into the plot and story line and I just loved the whole thing. Acting was excellent, Shannon providing to be an excellent bad guy.
Good film all around. :)

I have to admit I am some what divided on my opinion of this film.
On one hand it was terrible, simply terrible, but on the other hand it did have some redeeming moments.
The story was actually quite good, it followed/flowed nicely and had a good few plots and twists to keep me thinking, the acting was top notch for the most part, personally I felt Tony Stark's changed personality since New York was a stroke of genious.
I have 2 issues with this film. Primarily the whole premise behind the main "bad guys" is just stupid and ridiculous...it's almost like they ran out of ideas of how to give Iron Man enemies so just said, yea sure let's just have them breath fire...why not.
Over all it was ok, the first is BY FAR the best

Right well time to get the negative nancy out of the way. Hugh grant is the worst actor in the entire history of the earth. His voice and his style just irritate the be-jesus out of me.
Now to the good points, I really enjoyed Colin Firth's performance, gave me some quirky laughs. The whole film was kind of sad, but then kind of happy, which is a nice mix of emotions for a "Christmas Movie".
solid 3 stars

What an absolute gem. It's not often I give a film 5 stars, as frankly, there aren't a lot that deserve it. But from every angle this film was just excellent.
Story: Great story. I was gripped throughout the whole thing. Great mix of drama, action and emotional scenes as well. It's only downfall is that at times it was a bit slow-paced, but that was no-where near enough to effect its greatness.
Acting: Simply spectacular. As usual JG does a fantastic job, probably one of the finest actors in Hollywood at the moment if you ask me. Peña for me was a huge surprise, I can't say i've seen him in alot of films and didn't really think much of some of the ones he was in. Having said all of that, he did a fantastic job here.
Overall a stunning movie.

What an absolute treat of a film. Not only was the story gripping, fun and exciting but the movie its-self was an awesome visual treat.
Went to see in the new IMAX Screen in 3D in Cineworld and I have to say I was absolutely in awe at how beautiful the image on the screen was. Clear, crisp, precise, fluid, colourful and inspiring.
I watched all the production videos and kept a very close eye on this film since it's original inception, and so far Mr Jackson has proved me right when I was telling everyone how amazing it was going to be. All the work and effort the Hobbit teams have put into it really came through.
The acting was top notch, Freeman doing a great job as the young Bilbo, and I am glad to see that both Woods and
Holm were able to reprise their roles as Frodo/Biblo (Older). When looking at an image of Holm and Freeman side by side I do see a resemblance of sorts, so that was very well done.
I would have to say that one of my favourite parts was seeing the Hobbit take me back to places that I would have seen in the LoTR films, such as Rivendell and the Shire of course...brought back memories of the first time I watched the LoTR films.
The score was fantastic as always. The LoTR music was astounding and the Hobbit just follows on from, adding excitement and joy.
I'll admit I was a little cautious as to how the story its-self was going to transform onto the big screen, but it has been done with such grace and joy that it deserves nothing short of 5 stars. Great film, a treat to watch.
Thanks @Movies.ie for the tickets...and thanks to the whole Hobbit team for a wonderful film. Looking forward to the rest.

Having sat down and thought about this for a while I just couldn't bring myself to give it 4+ stars.
I'm not a huge Bond fan truth be told, but I felt this film was seriously lacking some decent action. Bond...trapped in a house...with no ammo and half a shotgun? Eh...where's the Bond we all used to know with the entire MI6 arsenal at his beckoned call!
I felt the story dragged, and just didn't really develop into a proper action flick.
I loved the story (as slow as it was), great way to bring the Bond series.
I would like to add that I went to to see this in Cineworld, Parnell Street. Film was due to begin at 17:20 if I recall correctly. Didn't start until about 17:50-18:00. To sit down and be confronted with 20 minutes of Adverts (3 of which were actually adverts for the Film technically), then for the trailers to load up, and be shown another 20 minutes of trailers (including a trailer for SkyFall), I felt completely ruined the experience. While I have tried to keep this out of my rating, I would imagine that the fact I was asleep before the film started isn't a good sign.
Probably would have gotten 4+ stars from me if Cineworld hadn't turned into such an ad-whoring bunch of greed-seeking douche-bags on the day.

Taken is a fantastic film...no doubt about it. It just oozes perfection. It's funny, action packed, well thought out, well scripted and with great acting. When I finished watching it I said, you know there's no way they can make a sequel of it. They must have known it wouldn't be as successful as the first.
Personally for me it was enjoyable. Some action, and suspense, and Neeson doing another great job. It did however lack alot of the greatness of the first outing, however that might be because it was the same story twice.
All in all if you enjoyed Taken, you'll probably enjoy this, but it's definitley not a contender compared to the first.
I give it an extra star because the acting was just great and they got rid of that rich twat of a fella that playing Liam's ex-wife.
