The premise for Predators is very exciting. Being a straight sequel to the 1st was a smart move ignoring the last 2 disgracful movies. Seeing the predators in action is always great fun and the world the characters are dropped into is also very cool. The characters do what they can for the little screen time they have. Brody is very much going against type here but actually pulls it off with a macho performance. Lawrence Fishburne on the other hand gives a very strange performance for the few minutes he is it. The only problem with Predators is, it wasnt govin the amount of money it needed to make it what its trying to be. Great references to the original and nice welcoming return to form for a fading franchise. Hopefully the sequel will be givin enough benjamins to up the action and effects.

I was dragged to see this by Seamyfox. I saw the 1st 2 movies which i thought were kinda funny and watchable, and was very interested in Eclipse to see what David Slade would do with such a teen franchise. It is pretty bad. Besides a few jokes that were actually pretty funny, the action is very restricted but the worst thing is the plot loses sense along the way. For example the character Jasper was totally incontrol of his blood lust in the last 2 movies is on hand here to train the others how to fight the new borns. What happened? Did he morph into a completly different character? Little things like this really annoyed me. Basically, an awful lot of it was contradictive and made no sense. Will probably wait for the next 2 movies to come out on dvd. Didnt like it.

Obviously not very original but it is a fun time travel movie. It does what it says on the tin. Cusack is as reliable as usual, comfortable in the 80's setting and there are some real laugh out loud moments. You should watch out for Rob Corddry. He is brilliant in this, making a very unlikable character very funny and likable at the same time. Great film.

Stiller gives a very strange realistic performance. Its nice to him play this type of character for a change. I saw this at the Jameson Film Festival, was very upset because i thought it was going to be something else. But it is a fine film. Its strange in places and i felt uncomfortable at times given the situations the characters were in. It wont make you feel good but it is a good movie and its well acted.

A great film. All great perfomances and a real sad story well written with charm. Baldwin steals the show, while Streep is as usual very fun to watch. I was surprised Steve Martin had such a big part in it. I havent enjoyed a film with him in it for a while, he was really good in it. Very well directed too. John Krasinski is too funny. He is great in this too. Its a very fun movie.

Very poor remake. As a fan of the Nightmare series, i dont mind sitting through cheese and bad one liners. Comes with the franchise. But they have changed it to make it feel a little more serious and real. 1st off Freddy wasnt a child killer, he was only a child molester before being burned alive. I kinda liked that but would have preferred him to stay a killer as it makes him more infamous. But he is a killer now. Haley has a pretty good spin on Freddy but the make up doesnt bite you. Looks like a burn victim but doesnt feel creepy. The rest of the cast are alright but they dont have much to work with. The script is by the numbers but the direction is very poor. There was nothing to stand out. All been done before. The killings were far from spectacular on the verge of boring. I think what ruined this film was the director and a weak script. Come on its the dream world were anything can happen. Nothing does. The usual boiler room blah blah. If they make a sequel, give it to somebody else. This isnt the worst movie in the world, it just leaves you dissapointed at what could have been. I could say Englund is missed, but that would be unfair to Haley who does his best. Better luck next time Dunes! Im off to watch Freddy Vs Jason!

Thanks to Jon Favreau Iron Man 2 is a success. Its as funny if not funnier than the 1st movie. The special effects are fantastic this time round. Marvel are doing a stand up job creating this universe on film. RDJ is again brilliant as Stark. I dont think its hard for him to play the character but thats not a bad thing. Paltrow, Cheadle and Sam Jackson all have great parts in this film. The comedy in it is top notch. Rourke is a big ass villain that certainly holds his presence on screen. Rockwell is a pretty cool nemesis but i didnt really get his character. Also Favreau's Happy Hogan was so funny. Seriously this film is hilarious. I havent laughed as hard at a film in ages. Its scripted brilliantly. Only thing i will say is i hope next time, the villain doesnt have a suit like Iron Man.

I like Kelly as a director. I am one of the few that really enjoyed Southland Tales. But i didnt feel this so much. The story is a little confusing but thats what you would expect from Kelly and a Twilight Zone episode adaptation. But the twists, the mystery and the weirdness of it all just doesnt mix well. By the end when the so called reveal happens you just couldnt care. Interesting idea, just not executed very well. I wouldnt bother.

Zombies 2nd Myers outing doesnt feel like a traditional film in the series. For example the original theme music doesnt appear until the credits and Myers doesnt wear his mask for a lot of the film. As a Rob Zombie film it has the usual gritty feel and look, also the gore is upped a notch too. The images that feature Myers mother and the white horse are interesting. But all the characters are so messed up. McDowells Loomis is the opposite to Pleasance's Loomis. Not likable at all. Laurie Strode is a strange unlikable character compared to the strong survivor from the originals. Brad Dourif and the soundtrack are the best things about this. I honestly dont know where the franchise can go from here.It needs to be shaken up and would be best if it was handed over to somebody else with different ideas.

An absolute mess. Like a cross between Death Race and The Running Man. It fails on every aspect. All the actors look like they dont really know what to make of the script and the action scenes are badly directed. Its a pity the guys from Crank missed out on an interesting opportuniy. Dreadful.

Really Freaky! This film will have you looking away from the screen. Its quite gorey but has the feeling of dread all the way through it. It also feels uncomfortably realistic. Excellently made and acted.

Excellent and creepy. Very inspired and very different to most horror/halloween movies out there. The cast are fantastic, especially Dylan Baker. The way the stories are connected is smart too. And Sam is so weird and creepy. Trick R Treat is refreshing and will leave you wanting more.
