Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The best film of Phase 2 so far. It's a fantastic sequel to both The First Avenger and Avengers Assemble. The action and fight scenes are the years best and The Winter Soldier himself makes for a very intimidating villain. It's nice to see Cap let loose on his own in the modern day. Some nice little clues and hints of what's to come in the future and 2 good post credit scenes too. Fantastic film.

This is the End

Not for everybody, but if your familiar with any of the cast or their movies, you will totally get this entire gag for a movie. It's just laugh out loud jokes the whole way through. It's crazy and funny. The whole time. The story is ridiculous and the cast bounce so nicely off each other, you can tell they had so much fun making this film. Another side note! The special effects in this film are off the wall! If they get around to making another Ghostbusters movie, we are in for a treat! Seriously, go see this film.

My little girl loved this. She's 5. Like she really loved it. I wasn't that impressed to be honest. It was funny in parts and the animation is just fantastic, but I thought it lacked the charm of the first movie. Maybe the whole plot of him being nice didn't work so well. Not sure, just wasn't that great. A little let down. But kids will love it.

World War Z

The only thing that's different with World War Z to other Zombie flicks, is the budget and Brad Pitt. It's pretty predictable. Nothing new, besides a few nice scenes involving thousands of CGI zombies at once. In fairness, it can be tense at times, the cast are spot on and it's actual plot is quite good. It's just, we have seen it all before. Nothing new. Nothing is done differently to what we have seen before. CGI zombies are not freaky. Stop it.

Man of Steel

Yay! The 2nd Superman movie in 24 years. And it's fantastic. Cavill is perfect in every way in the role. People will give out because there's a lot of action and a lot of CGI. But this is what Superman fans wanted. It's all out action. It's a great origin story. It's a great update. It's different to the ways Superman movies were made before. Sure there's some stiff dialogue, but so what. This guy shoots heat vision from his eyes. This is a great start to the franchise. Can't wait for Man Of Steel 2.

Great little movie. Cooper and Lawrence have great chemistry together. The script is funny and sharp. The biggest surprise was Robert De Niro is actually back on top form here. Very enjoyable.

Pitch Perfect

Kind of embarrassing but, I really liked this. It's not so much a chick flick. It's good fun and the music is pretty good. Anna Kendrick is class as always. Harmless fun that anybody can watch.

I really liked the idea of this being an actual direct sequel to the original movie, but my God did they get it wrong. Platinum Dunes remake and prequel before this were so much better. This is just a shoddy story that could be taken from a fan fiction site. The ending is embarrassing. They Turn Leatherface into just guard dog basically. Horrible.

The Purge

The Purge is a very creepy film. The whole premise of it gives you the chills and an eery feeling. The idea of an actual future which would actually allow 12 hours of madness happen is the most shocking part if this film and will leave you thinking and asking questions. It's a smart idea, but the movie is basically set in a house. It works well, it's a small enough film with a really big idea, which could be explored more in future movies if it's successful enough to become a series. I found it very enjoyable, creepy and slightly original.

Byzantium

I found Byzantium very strange. The cast are all great, Arterton is fantastic. Neil Jordan does vampires well. We know this from the classic Interview With The Vampire. This is a much more toned down affair. It's not your usual take on vampires, and while it's nice to see something fresh, it didn't really work for me. Nice to see Johnny Lee Miller eating up the his scenes on the big screen again though.

The Last Exorcism Part II

I really liked the first movie. It's one of the found footage movies I actually like. Part 2 is actually quite decent, ditching the handheld camera style for a more direct continuation of the actual story, Blair Witch 2 style. But it's much better than Blair Witch 2. Some really nice jump moments, but it's the ending that surprises and teases if there are future instsallments, where it could possibly go. Worth a watch.

Fast & Furious 6

It's getting 5 stars because this franchise made it Part 6 and has become so much fun. Of course it's ridiculous, mostly, but it's a hell of a good time. The action has become insane. Like Tanks driving down the highway and street racing in London Insane. In a good way. See what makes Fast and Furious different from most, is that it knows exactly what it is. And Justin Lin has done wonders, taking the attention away from racing, to the more entertaining heists and gunfights. Vin Diesel is the usual and The Rock is just awsome in these movies. Hopefully his character gets his own spin off movies. Also the end credits teaser for PART 7!!!! Genius!
