Are Universal planning a 3D Jaws remake?

According to reports, Universal Pictures is planning a 3D remake of Jaws.

An insider has revealed that following the success of Avatar, the studio has planned to move forward with a 3D update of Steven Spielberg's film.

Actually saw Jaws 3D in the Adelphi years ago. Ultimate in cheese. This is a terrible idea.

ah come on now, yer just taking the miki...

We have migrated out of the Decade of Sequels

to the decade of Sequels, prequels, remakes and 3d

Sequels / Prequels / Remakes = overdone by farrrrrr at this stage

3D = I have yet to see a film that makes me jump out of my seat, film's show with 3-d cameras are useless, the film has to be specifically designed for 3-d and the scenes positioned etc...IT DOESN'T WORK!!!

Thought this might happen, when watching Avatar an advert for Piranha (looks rubbish) was shown and I initially thought that it was for a Jaws remake. I personally dont mind it if (Big if!) the remake is done well and is entertaining but to answer the question of why do this when the original is a classic, money!!! Flithy greedy studio fat cats want lots of money to roll around in like pigs in a particularly pungent pile of poo!!! Which they will get of course from making this film in 3D.

It's a big mistake remaking classics like this.
