‘Snow Flower and the Secret Fan’ and ‘The Joy Luck Club’ director Wayne Wang has signed up to direct ‘Brave Dragons,’ reports Deadline.
Based on Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jim Yardley’s nonfiction book that was published earlier this year, the film follows an NBA coach who moves with his wife to the Chinese industrial city Taiyuan to coach the Shanxi Brave Dragons, one of the worst teams in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Jack Lechner, Ira Lechner and Jonathan Bing are on board as producers with Jonathan Prince providing the screenplay.
