Joss Whedon Confirmed for AVENGERS ASSEMBLE Sequel

“Geek God” will return for sequel.

Reports are coming in (via ComingSoon and /Film) that Disney chairman Bob Iger has announced that Joss Whedon is officially on board to write and direct a sequel to Marvel’s record breaking superhero teamup ‘Avengers Assemble.’

The announcement was made last night during a conference call about Disney’s quarterly earnings. Iger also revealed that Whedon will have input into Marvel’s proposed live action TV-series.

Following its release earlier this year Marvel’s ‘Avengers Assemble’ has grossed nearly €1.2 billion at the worldwide box office. The film is the third-highest grossing movie of all time worldwide

    Considering the film made hundreds of millions more than anyone expected it to I can't say I'm surprised by the news. He did do an absolutely fantastic job with the film so am looking forward to seeing what he does next with the franchise.
