Mortensen offered Neil Marshall ‘The Last Voyage of the Demeter.’

According to Bloody Disgusting, Viggo Mortensen (‘The Road,’ ‘History of Violence’) has been offered the lead role of “Henry Clemens” in the Dracula-themed film ‘The Last Voyage of the Demeter.’

With Neil Marshall (‘Dog’s Soldiers,’ ‘The Descent’) on board to direct, the long-in-development film follows the ill-fated crew aboard the merchant ship which carried Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to England.

Bloody Disgusting’s sources also claim that Ben Kingsley is attached to play the ship’s captain, with Noomi Rapace (‘Prometheus’) circling the female lead.

The script, penned by Bragi Schut (‘Season of the Witch’), is said to be reminiscent of ‘Alien,’ in which “a crew is slaughtered one-by-one by a mysterious passenger.”

This sounds brilliant. Great cast being lined up and have been impressed with Neil Marshall's work as a director.
