‘The Runway' is inspired by the true story of a South American pilot who had a bumpy landing near Mallow, Co. Cork in 1983. Against all odds, the people of the town came together to build a runway to get him home and briefly caught the imagination of the nation. It is the story of Paco, a young boy without a father who adopts the pilot and convinces the town to build a runway to get him home.

To be in with a chance of winning 2 tickets to the preview of THE RUNWAY on June 1st just answer the following easy question.

Ah Dundrum, can't go there. Shame as the film does look very good.

Not sure about some of the jokes in the trailer(namely the record scratch followed by laughter) but it doesn't look terrible. It is a nice concept for a film.

I haven't won (yet), but you might be interested to know that the same competition is running on the Irish Film Board website, as well as on IFTN (Irish Film and Television Network). By entering all three, you could increase your chances like myself.

I won but I have to work that night :( feels bad man

@Filmbuff Another handy tip is to write a small review of a movie after you won tickets to it, we keep a list of reviewers and forum regulars and regularly reward them with more tickets.

Just back from the Preview. This is a really nice movie. A real heart warmer without being sickly sweet and lots of good humor in there too. It takes about 10 minutes to get going but, excusing the pun, it then really takes off and flies. Would really recommend this. What a fantastic performance by the young Jamie Kierans who I am sure we will be hearing of again soon.
