10am on a Friday? Not much help if you're working at that time. Any chance of a screening outside working hours?

    I'd like to... But I can't. :(

I was suprised to type the first few letters of the answer and see the browser suggesting the answer, it must have been the answer to a previous competition here too.

Pretty sure it was the answer to the People Like Us competition from a few weeks back.

Not worth the journey for 9 mins of footage. Dear movies.ie, not everyone live sin Dublin. Is there any way that prizes could be valid at any cimema in Ireland? or just IMCs? Not necessarily this one obviously, but say you win tickets to see "The Hobbit". Couldn't that ticket be valid at any IMC nationwide? Just a thought....

  • michaela

@scollonp these screenings aren't just random screenings, "The Hobbit" competition is for the Irish Premiere and this one is probably a press thing of some sort that fans have been invited to.

Unfortunately I have to work :(

In hindsight I'm not so sure I want to win these tickets now. There's no way I want to be in Cineworld on a Friday evening unless everyone at the screening is forced to hand over their phones beforehand. I'd almost forgotten how much I hate going to the cinema on a busy Friday, even if the front row I still had someone beside me checking his phone every few minutes. I'll have to start wearing blinkers like horse.

Nine minutes should not be long enough for me to get particularly annoyed or distracted, but it also it should also be short enough that people might actually keep their phones off, but there are always a few jerks. (Can't imagine what it was like before or just after the ban on smoking in cinemas came it, not just a glowing distraction but the smell too.) Best I just wait for when the film is released and try to get to a 10 am screening.

@michaela, I know, hence "Not necessarily this one obviously" as it is a special screening. I was referring to more general competitions. I have made the journey to Dublin for many previews now at this point (thanks to movies.ie) but it is only an hour on the bus for me. What about the pour saps down in Cork? Or over in Galway? I'm just saying that the odd preview prize might be organised in some way so that those guy can participate too, maybe by catching it in a nearby IMC or whatever.

The Star Trek footage will be shown before the Hobbit in Cineworld IMAX from Fri the 14th anyway.
